Obituary of Jacqueline A. Turkel

Turkel, Jacqueline A., 90, of Somers, NY, died on July 8th.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, November 8, 1927, the daughter of Lydia (Farrell) and George Cox.

She was the wife of the late Cyrus Turkel who died in 1982.

Jacqueline was a Banker with Chemical Bank in Manhattan and was one of the first female bank officers in New York City.

She was a long time member of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Somers and later St Matthews Church in Bedford.

She was a longtime supporter of The Arts, including the Metropolitan Opera, The Actor’s Guild and Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco, NY. Her greatest love was her animals and she was well known as an animal advocate and supporter.

The visiting hours will be at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY on Tuesday, July 10 from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm.

Her Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, July 11th at 10:00 am at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church,382 Cantitoe Street, Box 293, Bedford, NY 10506.  Interment will follow at Ferncliff Mausoleum, 280-284 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY
