Obituary of Lila Bandon
Lila Bandon (nee Arida), 90, a 53-year resident of Somers, NY, died peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, December 1.
Mrs. Bandon was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to the late Juad and Olga (Khoury) Arida. She was graduated from Ft. Hamilton High School and Berkeley School of Business. Moving with her family to the area in 1965, Mrs. Bandon became a long-standing member of the League of Women Voters and the Somers Newcomers Club, and later the Katonah Women’s Civic Association. She had an accomplished career as an executive secretary, first at American Cyanamid and later for her husband’s local law practice.
Mrs. Bandon is predeceased by her husband William E. Bandon, Jr., her brother Edward J. Arida, and her sister Gloria Arida. Lila is survived by her children: William E. Bandon, III of Katonah, Victoria Noonan of Potomac Falls, VA, and Alexandra Bandon of New York City; her grandchildren Matthew and Christian Noonan, and John and Isabel Bandon; her sister Gladys Schondorf of Wellesley, MA; and countless friends and members of extended family.
A visitation at 10 am and memorial service at 11:30 am will be held on Saturday, December 8, at Clark Associates in Katonah.
