Obituary of Joan M. Dusenberry
Joan Dusenberry, née Doyle, a long-time resident of the South Salem, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 29 at the age of 90. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.
Joan was a devoted and loving mother. She loved holidays, birthdays, and any occasions that provided an opportunity to spend time with her family. She hosted weddings, graduations, and countless other get-togethers at her home. As she grew older, she relinquished hosting responsibilities to her children, but she still cheerfully participated, whether it was allowing her white hair to be colored green for Mardi Gras or competing from her wheelchair in a backyard “Family Olympics.”
She was born in 1928 in New York City and raised in White Plains, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Dusenberry. She leaves behind her children, Nancy Dusenberry, Peter Dusenberry, Jill Dusenberry, and Linda Dusenberry; her brother, John Doyle; her niece, Barbara Gifford; and her grandchildren Maya Wescott and Jacob Wescott.
Her family will receive friends on Saturday, January 5th, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods bridge Road, Katonah,NY, with a prayer service at 3:00pm.
