It was 1962 when I moved next door to Pete and Kay Loscalzo in Astoria. That changed my life and my husband's life - we became such good friends with them and enjoyed many happy times, parties, and vacations together. I remember when we were invited into their home the first time. My husband Charlie was wearing bermuda shorts and he was embarrassed to go out into the street with them on so Pete said you can come in the back way - thru the back window which was PJ's room at the time - and then we sat down and had tea.There were many other times for tea or coffee in that kitchen. I remember the other room with Lisa in the crib - crying of course, as she must be now too at this very sad occasion. There are so, so many good memories with Pete and Kay and too long to list here but I treasure them all - they were the best of friends and the best of times anyone could have ever wished for. I miss Kay and now Pete will join her. I love you Pete and I love you Katie. Rest In Peace my dearest friends. Love you, Mary
