Tuesday, February 26, 2019I was a student and advisee of Paul's wife M.A., at The Masters School. I met Paul when I was in eighth grade, cast as Matthew Cuthbert in an all girl production of Anne of Green Gables, with no idea how to "act" as anything other than female. I will never forget the caring way in which Paul spent an afternoon of his personal time teaching me "male" mannerisms to authenticate my performance. His guidance transformed me and my performance. I became Matthew Cuthbert and brought the audience to tears. I couldn't have done it without Paul's efforts. I loved seeing Paul in the audience at that Masters show and every one after. Even continuing to check in with him at visits back to watch more recent productions. He always welcomed me with a smile and hug - the audience will not be the same without him.

Sunday, February 24, 2019When I was ten years old, Uncle Paul created a cartoon character named Fred. I had a big sweatshirt with a picture of Fred and Fred’s motto: “Fred Loves Irregardless”. (I had to look up that big word in the dictionary). I loved Fred, because Fred loved me, irregardless. My Uncle Paul loved that way too, and through Fred, taught me to try. Thank you, Uncle Paul, for loving us all, irregardless.
