Obituary of Eileen M. McLaughlin

McLaughlin, Eileen M., of Somers, New York formerly of Scarsdale, New York died Monday, November 14th, 2016 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY. Eileen was born on May 17th, 1944 in Yonkers, New York to the late Andrew & Alice McLaughlin. She was a graduate of The Catholic University of America & The School of the Holy Child. She dedicated her professional career to caring for animals & children. While teaching at the New York Foundling program Eileen became certified in the Maria Montessori method and went on to certify others. Eileen is the beloved sister to Sheila Curry (nee McLaughlin) & the late Donald McLaughlin, Mary Deighan (nee McLaughlin), Alicia McLaughlin, Andrew McLaughlin, & Denise Downing (nee McLaughlin). She is the loving Aunt to Patrick Brian, Vincent, Andrew, Daniel, Kathryn, Patrick Joseph, Luke, Mary Sheila, Alice, Brice, Maureen, Amy, Kevin, Meredith, & Adam. Eileen was the loving mother of Patrick (nee Wolftone) as well as many, many other animals. She was a quiet & kind soul who loved people, animals, reading, music, & dessert. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road Somers, New York 10589 on Saturday, November 19th at 10:00am.
