Judge Caesar resided over my supreme court case in 2008, I felt so blessed having him reside over my case. I'm now a retired NYCPD Detective and Army Vet. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Judge Caesar. My condolence to the family of Caesar Cirigliano. The Bronx Justice System will never be the same, Judge Caesar kept his court fair, not allowing the jury to be misguided. The one thing the prosecution did not like in my case, was I totally assisting my defense lawyer in my case. I just didn't sit next to him quiet. I participated in the research, document assessments and distributions of findings. This truly annoyed the prosecutors in my case. Simple things like handing my defense attorney a paper from the desk as he pass, prosecutors felt it was misleading the jurors, and demanded I sit still watch, and listen. But Judge Caesar Cirigliano immediately over ruled stating. " Let me remind you, every person accused of a crime, who sits at that defense table have an absolute right to participate in his or her own defense, problem is prosecution is not use to it." "I'm not going to tell an accused he/she can't defend him/herself at a defense table. You're overruled!" (NG verdict) RIP my friend and thank you for your endless dedication to defend and help others. as a retired Vet as well, I salute you sir! Sleep In Peace (SIP).
Thank You! Clif

As a court reporter, I had the honor and pleasure to work with His Honor shortly after he was appointed to the bench in White Plains. Not only was he a learned jurist, but he was fair and cared about the unfortunate souls appearing before him. He was a truly fine, down to earth and kind man. My daughter took piano lessons from his son in his home about a mile from ours. Always loved seeing his milk can mailbox stand and the Judge chipping golf balls in his backyard. RIP, sir.
