Alex, I had the great pleasure of hosting and looking after your parents for a week during the Minneapolis film festival in the 80's .
They were the kindest and loving people. Your father talked about their meeting and becoming a couple saying how lucky people are when they find the true love of their life. he found his in Rosemary. During the week we shared many meals and each was equally rewarding with their stories. One day we mistakingly took a car from a parking ramp which was not our own simply identical with a matching key. We soon were surrounded by Police. fortunately a SGT. who frequently worked on production sets and we knew each other. Your folks had quite a laugh when we were set free. My very best wishes to you PhilipGKearney@gmail.com

Dear Alex,
A friend in Bedford who knew your Mum just told me of her recent passing. It was always a pleasure to see Rosemary and I remember with great fondness my visits with her in New York during the Northern summers and also seeing her in Noosa.
My condolences to you and your family.
All the best,
Maggie Wilde

I remember Rosemary with great fondness. We worked together on a biography of Joseph, whom she esteemed above all others and for whom I have continued respect. Though the book we planned did not work out, I treasure the three months I spent working on it with her. I was very ill at the time and she was very patient with me. Kevin Lewis

Rosemary worked with me on The Director's View Film Festival, which took place in Fairfield County (Connecticut) for 5 years. It launched on Joseph Mankiewicz's birthday and celebrated him with the annual presentation of the Joseph Mankiewicz Excellence in Filmmaking Award, presented to Robert Benton, Dick Donner, Ismail Merchant & James Ivory, Arthur Penn and Sidney Lumet.
Rosemary was a great pleasure to work with, she brought everything to the table, including getting Elizabeth Taylor to be on our board of advisors. I so enjoyed our dinners and lunches, conversations and going through her amazing archives.
She didn't have a mean bone in her body. Her stepson, Tom Mankiewicz, sung her praises and worked with us both on making the festival a great success.
Rosemary lived a full and rewarding life and will be long remembered by all she touched. The photo hung over Rosemary's mantle in Katonah for many years, was the logo for the festival and the model for the Award presented each year.
