Obituary of Robert E. Brundage
Robert E. Brundage, 83, of Chappaqua, NY, died Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
Robert, best known as Bob to his family and friends, was born September 14, 1937 in Mount Kisco, NY, to the late Vernon L. Brundage, Sr. and Anna (Lundquist) Brundage King.
He was a 1956 graduate of Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua. He attended Fordham University, Bronx, NY.
He began his career on Wall Street as a trader. Bob later went on to work for many years at 3M Corporation. Following his time at 3M, he founded Basic Office Products and the Basic Limousine business before retiring.
In his early years, Bob was a member of the Chappaqua Fire Department and the Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corps. As a teenager, he was a member of the Chappaqua Fire Department’s fife and drum corps.
Bob was a communicant of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Somers, where he was a past vestry leader.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted supporter of his nieces and nephews, teaching many of them how to drive, attending their awards ceremonies, sporting events, and bragging to friends about their many accomplishments. Bob was a dedicated member of his community, often stopping by to chat with friends in local delis and coffee shops to discuss the day’s news events and the goings on in politics. He was an avid reader, a stamp collector, a collector of National Geographic Magazines and a fan of word-search puzzles.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Vernon L. Brundage, Jr., sisters Eleanor (Brundage) Viscomi and Barbara (Brundage) McGuire. He is survived by his sister, Gail M. (King) Epstein and brother-in-law Steven J. Epstein, of Yorktown Heights, NY. He is also survived by nephews Lawrence, Alan, and Thomas Brundage, John McGuire, Jr., Brian and Keith Epstein, nieces Michelle (McGuire) Huff, Deborah (McGuire) Krinitsky, Jennifer (McGuire) Sherman, and Allison Epstein. Additionally, he is survived by many other great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11AM at Oakwood Cemetery, 304 Lexington Avenue, Mt. Kisco, NY.
