Obituary of Kathleen Melahn

Kathleen Melahn, age 93, of Kinnelon, New Jersey passed away August 31, 2021.

Kathleen was born on August 8, 1928 in Bedford, New York to the late John and Catherine Haran.  She was the wife of the late Charles Melahn. They resided in Katonah, New York for many years and raised their family. After retirement, they moved to Carmel, New York.

Kathleen graduated from St. Mary’s School in Katonah in 1946.  She continued her education at Payne Hall in Manhattan where she graduated with a medical secretary degree.  She later worked at the Bedford Hills Corrections as a secretary.  After raising her 5 children she worked for the telephone company in Mt. Kisco, as a clerk, and stayed there until she retired.

She loved her family and friends and always loved when the house was filled with our friends.  Many considered her their special second mom.

She will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 3rd from 4:00 - 8:00pm  at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Of The Assumption Church, 55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY.  Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Lexington Avenue, Mount Kisco, NY.
