Obituary of Rae M. Pegoli

Rae Marie Pegoli (97) of Katonah, NY died peacefully in her home on Wednesday January 12, 2022.

Rae was born in the Bronx  to the late Alfonso and Angelina (nee Viggiano) Amato. She lived in Granite Springs, NY and then later moved with her family to Route 100, Somers, NY.

Rae was the beloved wife of  Enrico (Rick) Pegoli, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her sister Anna (Amato) Osborne and her two brothers Michael and James.

She was the loving mother of Linda Pegoli of Somers, NY, Patricia Taverna (Thomas) of Brewster, NY, and beloved grandmother of Megan.

Rae graduated High School in Somers and later graduated Business School in NYC. She worked in NYC and Readers Digest.  Rae then worked for and retired from the Somers School System as District Treasurer.

Rae loved family, friends, dancing and holidays. She loved theatre, music, going to plays in NYC, local concerts at Caramoor and at Lasdon Park in Somers. She was skilled at knitting, crocheting, sewing, and baking among many other activities. She enjoyed travel and experienced two trips Italy - to Rome, Florence, Naples & Portofino.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11:30 AM St. Joseph’s RC Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY. Internment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Rt. 202/100 Somers, NY.
