Obituary of Judith A. Leuchter

Judith Ann Leuchter, 73, of New York City, died on April 20, 2022 at Regional Hospice in Danbury, Connecticut. Judy grew up in Verona, New Jersey, earned a Bachelor's degree from Boston University and a Master's degree in Recreational Therapy from New York University, and worked for many years in health education. She had a lively interest in the arts, including music and dance, but especially painting. The art she collected over the years remains a source of enjoyment and pride to the entire family.

 

Judy was predeceased by her parents, Irving and Ethel K. Leuchter, and by her husband, Jerry S. Colman. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Rose Colman, her son-in-law, Edward Mitchell, and her granddaughter, Charlotte Mae Mitchell, to all of whom she was totally devoted. Judy is also survived by two sisters: her twin, Susan J. Leuchter, and Elizabeth L. Engstrom; a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and several grandnieces and nephews.

 

There will be a private funeral, followed at a later time by a larger gathering honoring Judy's life. Arrangements have been handled by Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, New York.
