Obituary of Ferdinand Travis Hopkins IV

Ferdinand Travis Hopkins IV, 72, a resident of Brewster, passed away on July 20, 2022, at home, with his loving wife of 40 years Priscilla by his side, after a lengthy illness which he battled with extraordinary strength, dignity and grace. 

Travis was born on May 14, 1950 in New York, New York to the late Elinor and Ferdinand T. Hopkins.He grew up in Somers on Muscoot Farm, which his great-grandfather established in 1880.

 

Travis graduated from Trinity-Pawling School and Leicester College.He worked for the Bank of New York, King Lumber and managed real estate development.He served as president of the Katonah Rotary Club, President of Raymond Hill Cemetery, and Master of Masonic Lodge #408 of Mt. Kisco.Travis was a member of the Katonah Presbyterian Church, Somers Historical Society, Sons of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society.  

 

Travis was an antique car collector and an enthusiastic member of many antique car clubs. His passion was antique car touring, get-togethers and encouraging others to share in his hobby.He thoroughly enjoyed driving his cars locally and in car tours throughout the United States and in the renowned London to Brighton Tour in the UK.

 

In addition to his wife Priscilla, Travis is survived by his sister Nancy (Bob) Reilly, nieces Meghan and Morgan, his cousin, Marge Drexler, brother-in-law John Hicks-Beach, sister-in-law, Lucinda Hicks-Beach Quinn (Joseph), nieces Tressan Quinn (fiancĂ© Craig Benson), Holly Quinn, grand-nephew Dean and grand-niece Yohana, his best man,Tim (Maritza) Quinn and many dear friends. Travis will always be remembered for his kind and gentle demeanor and sense of humor. 

 

Visitation will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home in Katonah on Wednesday, July 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 28 at the Katonah Presbyterian Church, with burial following at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel.
