Obituary of Jennie DaSilva

Jennie DaSilva died on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in Somers, NY, at the age of 93. She passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by her family, who will miss her dearly.

Jennie was born on February 2, 1929, in Mount Vernon, NY, to Anna and Nicola Coschingnano. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School and worked as a seamstress before marrying the love of her life, Manuel DaSilva, and becoming a fulltime homemaker. They then lived in New Rochelle, NY, for 25 years before moving to Somers, where they spent the last 36 years.

Jennie and Manuel were married for 73 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting “Manny” and her children before herself.

She is survived by her husband, Manuel, her children Ronald DaSilva and his wife JoAnn and Lorraine Toscano and her husband Len. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jacqueline and Kevin Feeney, Daniel and Andriana Toscano, Gregory and Jacqueline DaSilva, Samantha and Gregory Kuhfeldt, and Matthew DaSilva; four great grandchildren, Claire, Emmeline, and Lucas Feeney and Elle Toscano; and many nieces and nephews.

Jennie was happiest taking care of her home and the family that she loved, playing games with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sharing a cup of coffee and cake with those who were dear to her.
