Obituary of Nicholas Giardina

In Loving Memory of Nicholas Giardina

8/15/1932 - 8/7/2022

Nicholas of Katonah, NY, native of Mt.Kisco, NY, died at home Sunday, August 7th 2022.

Nick is beloved husband of Elizabeth and is the loving father of Vickie of North Palm Beach, FL, Rita of Hopewell Junction, NY, and Nicholas and his wife Laura of South Salem, NY.  He leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren Lindsay and her husband Angelo Danza, Christopher and his wife Hannah Storms, Peter Storms, Courtney and her husband Connor O’Hara, Jack and Jillian Santaroni, Jenna and Nicholas Giardina, and great-grandchildren Angelo, Vanessa, Antonio, Gia Domenica Danza, Cooper Storms, and Jasper O’Hara.

Nick, a long time modified race car driver of over 35 years was the last founding member of the Southern New York Racing Association (S.N.Y.R.A). He was a charter member of the Mt. Kisco Chapter of The American Legion.  He is a retired member of Teamsters Local 456.  Nick received an honorable discharge  from The United States Navy after serving on the USS Timmerman during the Korean War.

Nick was the epitome of a father in every sense of the word. He was the patriarch of our family and instilled his culture, values and tradition in us every day as his family was absolutely, his entire world.  Nick lit up when his friends and family were around. He loved to make us laugh. He loved to reminisce about the “good old days” and we loved to listen. Whether it was old racing stories, his mechanical “genius” as he could fix or rebuild just about anything you put in front of him, his time in the Navy or his Sicilian roots he proved to us that he was so much more than a man, husband, father, or grandfather. He truly was and will always be our hero. Thank you for the beautiful memories, Poopa we will cherish them with all our hearts. “Go man, go.”

“If I could write a story it would be the greatest told…of a kind and loving father who had a heart of gold.

I could write a million pages but still be unable to say, just how much I love and miss him every single day.

I’ll remember all he taught me, I’m hurt but won’t be sad…

As he’ll send me down the answers and he’ll always be my DAD.”
