Obituary of Julia Johnson
Julia K Johnson, aka Judy Johnson, age 95
A resident of Heritage Hills Somers, NY for 43 years.
Peacefully passed on August 19, 2022, at Danbury Hospital, Danbury CT
Born June 12, 1927, in Abington, PA to Julia Manning Kuhn & William Kuhn, Jr.
Judy graduated from Abington High School and earned a BA in Music (piano and organ) from Connecticut College for Women, New London, CT.
Judy was an active member of the Somers Chamber of Commerce, Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and Women’s Council of Realtors. She was also an active alumna of her college, where she served as class secretary for five years, reunion chairperson for numerous years and was currently holding the position of class president for five years and the upcoming 2024 reunion chairperson. Judy was also very active with the NY/CT MG Car Club.
Judy was blessed with a long life and leaves behind a beautiful family. She was an amazing, remarkable woman who lived life to its fullest. Many described her as adventurous, a force of nature, fun loving, one of a kind woman. She was a pillar in the real estate industry, admired for her enthusiasm, determination, and drive. She loved to travel locally and abroad, driving her MG, ballroom dancing, music, the ballet, Broadway shows, and summer jazz concerts at Caramoor Center for Music and Arts. Judy was also very involved for years in The Landmark Forum.
She leaves behind her three adult children; daughter Lynn Manning Johnson Albuquerque NM, son Drew Stephen Johnson Sante Fe, NM, daughter Dana Phelps Johnson Boulanger Pawling, NY, and a loving memory of son Scott William Johnson, deceased. As well as nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. A loving and expanding family.
A memorial service and reception to honor and celebrate her life, will be held by her family on Saturday October 29, 2022 at 10:30am Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Westchester 236 South Bedford Road, Mt. Kisco, NY 10549.
Burial to follow at Ivandell Cemetery, Rt. 100 Somers, NY
