Obituary of Edmond J. Driscoll

Edmond Driscoll, known by friends as “Ned”, of Heritage Hills, Somers NY, Westchester County and before at 19 Branch Drive Smithtown NY, Long Island has passed on October 24, 2022 at the age of 97. Ned was born on April 29, 1925 and had an amazing long life and is now happily with his life long love Eleanor Driscoll (nee Harkins) who predeceased him in 2013.

Ned’s parents were Clement J. and Elizabeth A. Driscoll and he had brothers Eugene and Clement that all predeceased him. The Queen of England did as well.

Eleanor and Ned were married on May 9, 1964 and the world and no wife has known a more dedicated and loving husband. They traveled the world and enjoyed each other’s company and that of their many good friends every day.

Ned was also a successful businessman borne of his honest and caring spirit and owning and running businesses well into his retirement. He was involved in the Heritage Hills Condo Board saving the residents hundreds of thousands of dollars during his frugal tenure. He was an avid gardener and grew beautiful flowering plants and vegetables from seed into his 97th year. He loved his dog “Daisy” as he loved all he knew-without condition or judgment.

But most importantly, Ned was the kindest of souls and saw God in everyone he met. He was a dedicated supporter of the Church in St. Patrick’s, Smithtown and St. Joseph’s, Somers. He had an amazing sharp and humorous wit into his 97th year. He was truly one of a kind. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting him.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 27th from 4:00 - 8:00pm  at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 28th at St. Joseph's RC Church

Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Route 202, Somers,
