Obituary of Richard W. Brown

Richard W. Brown, 83, of Somers, NY, died peacefully on November 18, 2022, at Waterview Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center of North Salem, NY. He was born July 6, 1939, in Manhattan, the son of Frank Brown and Sonia Sokoloff.

Rich graduated from Somers High School in 1958. Following graduation, he married his lifetime sweetheart Teresa Cuomo. They celebrated 59 years of marriage in May of 2022. A 30-plus-year System's Engineer for General Motors and, later, Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Tarrytown, NY, regarded as a talented asset to the organization.

Throughout his life and retirement, Rich was known for his incredible and endless ability to build, fix, and engineer everything. He is said to be "the man with golden hands." A loyal and dedicated husband, father, brother, son, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, and a quiet, kind, strong-willed person. Rich loved serving as an usher for St. Joseph's Parish for the many years he resided in Somers.  

Rich is survived by his wife, Teresa Brown, his eldest son Christopher J. Brown and his wife, Rosalie Brown, of Bar Harbor, ME; daughters Molly Brown, Ruby Brown, and Bella Brown; his Daughter Geraldine Brown Giomblanco, husband Mark Giomblanco of Naples, FL; and his youngest son Richard J. Brown and three children; Mia Brown, Richard C. Brown, and Sonia Brown of Pawling, NY. Also loved by many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Irene Weinhoffer, and survived by a sister, Vera Brown Daul, and her husband, Randy Daul, and their children.  

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 10am at St. Joseph's Church, 95 Plum Brook Road, Somers, NY.  Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Route 100, Somers, NY.
