Obituary of Patricia G. Higgins

Patricia G. Higgins, 83 of Katonah, NY, formerly of Far Rockaway, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center. Patricia was born on April 19, 1939 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Queens, NY, to Mary S. Gruning and Carl H. Gruning.

She graduated from Far Rockaway High School and worked for Scientific American, the Ford Foundation, and Reader’s Digest. She retired in 2010 as the special events coordinator for the Greenrock Corporation in Tarrytown, NY.

With the late Thomas E. Higgins she was the mother of Nancy DelGais and Conor Higgins of Somers, NY, the eldest sister of the late Dr. Carl Gruning of Fairfield, CT, Suzanne G. Toomey of Galloway, NJ, and Dr. Michael Gruning of Santa Monica, CA. She is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held in the Spring of 2023.
