Obituary of Patricia E. Colavito

Patricia Ellen Colavito of Bedford Hills, NY passed away on December 14, 2022. Pat was born on March 1, 1941 to Eileen R. and Robert D. Mathieson in Yonkers, NY. Her brothers are John, Robert (deceased), and twin brother Alan (deceased).  After Pat graduated from Roosevelt High School, she worked hard to put herself through Good Counsel College where her dear friend Ann Marie Colavito introduced her to her future husband William.  They were married December 26, 1964 and had five children, William D Colavito, Melissa Colavito, Alycia Parkes (David), and twins Keith (Danielle) and Kimberly Colavito.

Pat went on to earn her Master Degree from The College of New Rochelle.  She loved the Spanish language and taught Spanish and ESOL in Westchester/Putnam Counties for 20 years.  Pat excelled at tennis where she was captain of the Bedford Tennis Team and competed nationwide through USTA tennis. She was also an avid golfer and played on various leagues throughout Westchester. A talented artist, she enjoyed painting, singing in the church choir, and even learning guitar later in life. She was actively involved in the local Alzheimer’s organization and Midnight Run.

Pat had a beautiful smile, a friendly disposition, and was loved by all who knew her. To her friends and family she was the “pink lady,” her favorite color, and known for her incredible zest for life. She fought a courageous three year battle with ALS. She also left behind six beloved grandchildren Tyler, Connor, Chelsea, Lyndsey, Lucas and Dean.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 18th from 1:00 - 5:00pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 19th at 11:00 am at St. Mary Of The Assumption Church, 55 Valley Road, Katonah, NY.
