Margaret was so special to me from the first time I arrived in Katonah in 1977 aged 19 with my friend Liz. She and Bruce welcomed us with open arms and we will never forget how special she made us feel. Two young Irish girls with no travel experience and she insisted we had to meet the boys! In Washington DC... Peter and Philip....so they booked a flight for us to go. Roll on 1982 I got married to Paul.... 40 years later we still have special memories of spending 3 nights of our honeymoon in Katonah..... rose pettles, champagne in the apartment. Thankfully Margaret and Bruce visited us in Ireland to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. Then Kevin and Peggy came to stay and we had such fun in the West of Ireland around Ennistymon where our family started out from ....many years later when Margaret was 91 I was on a work trip to USA and drove to Katonah to catch up.....that was the last time we shared time together..so precious. It was like no time had passed.....that's what made Margaret so special. In the past few years I have had the pleasure of Emily and her friend Ryan stay with us in Dublin. This was repeated a few years later in our holiday home in France with Caroline and Nicolas joining in then. Margaret brought so much joy, love and happiness to all of us. She will live on in our souls....... hopefully the family will continue to come and visit us here in Ireland to keep our special connection going...... a soul gone but never forgotten.
