He was a graduate of the Citadel Military College of South Carolina.
Chris worked in the Federal Probation Office for 34 years and was appointed Chief Probation Officer for the Southern District of New York in 1994.
Chris was a 40 year member of the Katonah Fire Department where he enjoyed the camaraderie and professionalism of so many dedicated men and women. After retirement he especially enjoyed coffee hour with the old coots.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Roberta (Bobbi) and his sons John and (Lori) of Portola, California, Paul and (Lisa) of Walpole, Massachusetts, and William and (Audrey) of Brookfield Connecticut, and his much adored grandchildren Elizabeth, Jamison, Tristan, Anastasia, Raina, Lucia, Jack and Maya. He is also survived by his sister Valerie Dahlberg and her husband Michael of Katonah, New York and his nephews Christopher, Greg, and Nick, and cousins.
Chris, even with his busy work schedule, took great pride in spending as much time as possible with his kids and grandkids creating lasting memories that will always be cherished. Whether he was taking them fishing, coaching little league baseball and soccer, camping, taking them to the beach, or just hanging out, joking around, and making whoever was around him smile. No matter what, times were always loved and memorable.
Chris has touched many people’s lives. Chris was always there to put a smile on anyone’s face that was around him. From his second family at the fire house, his gym family, and anyone he just happened to walk by, he always had a kind word, or a wisecrack to brighten up their day.
