Obituary of David Paul Lauffer

 

David Paul Lauffer, 48, of Watertown, NY passed away on June 28 2023. David was born to Warren and Audrey Lauffer in Watertown, NY. One of four children David graduated from Watertown High School in 1994. He went on to study at Ohio Wesleyan University where he joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, an honor he valued and upheld throughout his life. David graduated Dean’s List, a  National Science Foundation Fellow, an Eagle Scholar, and a Wilson Award Winner with a degree in Microbiology. In 1998 he moved to Washington DC where he worked as a consultant for Markowitz & McNaughton. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business. In 2005 David started working at Bank of America kickstarting a long career in healthcare investment banking. 

 

In 2006 David met his wife Amber in New York City. In 2009 they moved to Europe for six years where they welcomed their first daughter Olivia, 9. In 2015 they moved to Westchester, New York and shortly after welcomed their second daughter Ava, 6. 

 

From Bank of America in New York to Novartis in Switzerland to Barclays in London to Wells Fargo in New York David had a successful career known for his integrity and conscientiousness. His work was his passion. Aside from spending time with his family nothing gave him more pleasure and satisfaction. David loved Billy Joel, airplanes, playing monopoly with his daughters, cooking for family and friends, and making people laugh.

 

On June 28 2023 David passed away peacefully at Stonybrook University Hospital with his children and wife near him.

 

David lived life always trying to do the right thing. He was kind, thoughtful, gracious and charming. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

 

David is predeceased by his sister Sandra, his Mother Audrey, his brother Steven, and his Father Warren. He is survived by his wife Amber and their daughters Olivia and Ava, his brother Jeffrey and his wife Cheri and their two children, and his niece Megan and her husband Adam and their two children.

 

Services will be held at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY 10536. on Saturday July 1 at 10am.

 

Interment will follow at Middle Patent Rural Cemetery, Banksville, NY
