I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn that Allan has passed. He was a close personal friend for many years and his wonderful character was kind, gentle and larger than life. He loved Concorde and Princess Diana and had many glorious stories of his adventures at JFK down through the years. He felt so proud of the signed framed photo that Diana personally carried over to him from London which took pride of place in his living room at 683. Allan was always immaculate and very distinguished…..his presence immediately created a warm and positive impression. His smiles radiated out continuously and it was always a total joy to be in his presence. I shared so many precious moments with him at North Salem and also here in London. He introduced me to tequila after a day of raking out his garden and I felt privileged to be close to him and to share in his incredible life. He loved Chianti and English pubs and nearly hard a heart attack in late 1990’s when I traded in my Jaguar for a Chrysler. Allan was a true gentleman …..he was decent and loyal and brilliant to the core. His long drives were never an obstacle just a chance to think and relax…..he was meticulous and structured and highly respected by all those who worked with him. Just to open door 1 left on Concorde and see him standing there with a huge smile was enough to lighten anyone’s day. He mattered and his presence mattered immensely…..the world is a lesser place without him. A sad day indeed to think that he is gone but his memory will live on forever in our hearts. Rest in peace my dear noble friend and thank for touching our lives and for making the world a better place. Stan Coughlan
