Obituary of Michelle Mindy Bergenfeld

Michelle Mindy Bergenfeld, age 65, a resident of Mount Kisco, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Northern Westchester Hospital. She was born August 13, 1957, in Bronx, NY to Kenneth and Gloria Schneider.

Michelle went to Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY with her sister. She graduated and received a B.A. degree in English and Publishing Studies; a majority of her career was spent writing, editing, and advertising for various organizations throughout Westchester County, NY.

In addition to being a creative, silly, and goofy mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend, Michelle loved grooming and dressing up her poodle, Luna. Belting a Broadway tune, eating pizza and meatballs, indulging in lemon/lime desserts, drinking coffee, solving a murder mystery, and executing arts and crafts were her favorite activities. Her imagination knew no bounds, a gift she passed onto her daughter.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Ira Bergenfeld; her daughter Dana Bergenfeld and son-in-law Alex McGuiness; her parents Kenneth and Gloria Schneider; her sister Fran Fiegoli and brother-in-law Mark Fiegoli; along with nephews, cousins and grand-niece.

The Funeral Service will be held Sunday, August 6^th promptly at 11am at Sharon Gardens 273 Lakeview Avenue, Valhalla, NY 10595. Please meet at 10:40am at the office of Sharon Gardens (also called the Kensico Cemetery Administration Office Building) to follow the procession to the site.

Ira and Dana will receive family and friends to follow at their home in Mount Kisco, NY. Details to be given at the service.

Memorial contributions in Michelle’s name are requested to be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Head and Neck Cancer Department by mail or online.
