Obituary of Fred Ravetto

Walter Ravetto, known by his middle name of Fred, 73, of Danbury, CT, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Fred was born on February 19, 1950 to his parents Walter and Rilda Ravetto who both immigrated to the US from Italy. Fred grew up in Somers, NY where he met his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan Ravetto (nee Harrell).

After spending high school playing football and working in his family’s restaurant (“Ravetto’s Restaurant” in Yorktown NY), Fred went on to Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY where he majored in Mechanical Engineering. His career in engineering sales spanned the globe, traveling to six continents, and living with his family in Houston TX, Shelton CT, Birmingham AL, Ridgefield CT, Frankfurt Germany, Newtown CT, and finally Danbury CT.

Fred is the beloved husband of Susan, the loving father of Jennifer (Matt) Dean of Williamsburg VA, Debra (Greg) Vogel of Brookfield CT, and Tracy (Steve) Scovotti of Eastchester NY, and the brother of Anita Mannion of Poughkeepsie NY. He is the adored grandfather (“Nonno”) of Cole, Evan, Jacob, Logan, Arianna, and Chloe.

Fred was known for his "positive mental attitude", despite being a lifelong Mets and Jets fan. He was adored by the love of his life, Susan, who was his high school sweetheart and soulmate. He was an inspiration to his daughters, always believing in them and cheering on all their accomplishments with an ever present smile. He had a close relationship with each of his 6 grandchildren, who he made feel special in their own way. Fred will be missed terribly by those who were blessed to know him.

Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd., Katonah, NY on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 4-7pm. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 14th at 2pm at Newtown Congregational Church at 14 West St, Newtown, CT followed by interment at Ivandell Cemetery in Somers, NY.
