Obituary of William F. Shea

William ‘Bill’ Shea passed away at the age of 90 on December 7, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.

Bill lived a full life. He was a loving husband to Leona who preceded him in death. Cherished father of four children: Elizabeth of Trinity, FL, William of North Salem, NY, Kathleen Olsen of Mechanicsville, VA and Joseph of Babylon, NY and four grandchildren:  Harold, Mitchell, Nicole and Samantha. 

After serving honorably in the U.S. Navy, Bill spent the first half of his career as a New York City Police Officer. He then went on to spend many years as a lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department.  He will be remembered for a lifetime of devotion to the service of others. 

Bill was a devout Catholic. He cherished his family and friends.  He was loved for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed history, loved to sing and was an avid TCM fan.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 from 4pm - 7pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd, Katonah, NY 10536.   The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 14th at 10 a.m. at St Joseph’s Catholic Church,  95 Plum Brook Rd, Somers, NY 10589. The Rite of Committal will be a private ceremony for close family members at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY 11792.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. May almighty God bless us with his peace and strength, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
