I had the privilege of working as an attorney for Lloyd Reed in The Mutual of New York Law Dept. Lloyd was simply one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met. He was a superb commercial real estate attorney, quick to spot issues and solve problems, but also so very patient with younger attorneys eager to learn. Lloyd, however, was far more than the consummate professional. He was extremely kind, with a remarkable consistency. He was unflappable no matter the crisis! He was always available and eager to help you. I used Lloyd for decades as my model for how to treat fellow employees. He was well-read, a joy to converse with on any subject. He often spoke in glowing terms of his family (how lucky they were to be in his presence for decades!!). At a critical time in my career, Lloyd came to my aid. His efforts changed the rest of my life for the better.
How much better our world would be if there were far more people like Lloyd!
God will soon learn that He gained a great lawyer to take care of all real estate matters relating to Heaven!!
Dave O'Brien, Esq.

Lloyd will be missed, he was a very intelligent, warm and cultured man. He and June, his wife, complemented each other perfectly. Lloyd and my father started at Mutual of New York about the same time and spent a lot of time together. They especially enjoyed swimming together at the Y. It served them well. There was a special relationship between my parents and June and Lloyd which doesn’t happen often. As I read his obituary it was evident that he was enjoyed life and shared in all its pleasures. We are fortunate to have known Lloyd and June and their family.

From the day I started at MONY as new lawyer and for the 17 years I worked there Lloyd was my teacher, confidant, consoler and best friend. He taught me the law and, more importantly, he taught me how to be a lawyer. I will forever be in his debt and shall remember him always.

I worked for Lloyd Reed as his secretary at MONY in the 1970's and then as a Paralegal under his wing until 1986 when I left to attend Law School.
Lloyd Reed was the sole reason I became an Attorney.
He was an incredible influence on my life.
He was a father figure to me (having lost my father at a young age).
I have often referred to Lloyd Reed as my role model in how to treat people in business and on a personal level.
He always treated people with courtesy and respect.
We kept in touch at the holidays every year until a few years ago.
He was a wonderful person who will never be forgotten.

He was such a beautiful soul! Always kind and generous towards all. Even as a child I have fond memories of Uncle Lloyd's gentle nature. He had an accomplished and full life, and left his mark on many people. He will be missed by so many! ❤️
