Auntie Cecilia was a great lady who I am proud to say was my Godmother.I have so many lovely memories of our times together.I remember her coming to England with her 3 wonderful daughters Claire, Irene and Susan(who were very young,) after Joe had died.My mum Hannah wanted them to come to live near us in England checking out local houses for sale.In the end the Big Apple beckoned!
I was so pleased to have seen Cecilia and extended family members 2 summers ago.She looked great, as ever.
We've had many laughs together over the years and I've always felt a close bond with Cecilia and family.
Thankyou for being in our lives Cecilia.God bless xxx
All my love
Patricia

Aunt Cecelia was a loving Aunt to all her nieces and nephews and always had our best interests at heart. Following the death of her husband at such a young age I admired so much her courage and strength of character in bringing up her three girls in New York on her own at such a difficult and lonely time .She made many trips home to Ireland and England to visit her brothers and sisters and in laws and extended family. The family's love for each other was clear to see even though they were miles apart . Her visits were looked forward to with great enthusiasm. She never forget where she came from and kept in touch with everyone throughout her life.
I had the pleasure of visiting her in New Yok on several occasions and I have lovely memories of these visits. We mainly sat around talking and putting the world to rights. I was always amused with her attention to detail and her witty sense of humour. She had a habit of following me when I opened the window blinds and straightening them after me and pointing out spots I missed when sweeping the floor
We kept in touch frequently by phone and had good chats about the goings on in Ireland and America. She was so lucky to have three wonderful daughters who loved her so much and who cared so deeply for her and looked after her so well. I know they will miss her so much but she will be always with them in spirit.I am so sorry to be missing her funeral because of Covid but she will always be in my thoughts and prayers. My condolences go to Clare , Irene and Susan , her sons in laws and grandchildren and extended family and friends.I will finish with an Irish saying 'Ar Dheis De go raibh a h'anam' . Rest in peace Aunt Cecelia.

Cecelia and I have been life long friends since the days that we cycled to and from the Technical School in Manorhamilton. Later on, I was honoured when Cecelia became my sister-in-law and I trust that she and (Michael)Joe are now reunited in heaven. With deepest sympathy to Clare, Irene and Susan and all your family members. Much love from Aunt Eileen, Manorhamilton, Ireland
