Dear Family & Friends of Dear Monica
We were fortunate live across the street from Monica and Bob and their kids on Guard Hill Rd in Bedford. She was the consummate mother, friend and wife. Her gentle manner and caring way for all will not be forgotten. Cathy and I are so fortunate to have memories of our time together. We send our love and support to her family.

It is hard to process a world without Monica. It has always been "Bob and Monica" since freshman year in college over fifty years ago. She was sweet, funny, smart - just a beautiful person, and she and Bob were blessed to have met each other so young, and to have built a life together. I feel lucky to have remained friends for so long. So many memories. My heart goes out to the Ahrens and Oswald families.

"A beautiful, gentle, kind soul and a true friend was Monica. Every time we would come up to Bedford to visit you and Robert after we moved you would welcome us into your home with a hug and a big smile and made us feel at home. I can never forget that smile, your picture says it all. From the kindergarten days of David and Ramsey, and through all our kids that followed, we constantly heard, "Mrs. Ahrens is the best."
You will be genuinely missed, Rest in Peace, and we will cherish the memories.
Love,
Walid and Ginny and the family"

Monica, dear Monica, you will be so, so missed. My memories of Monica are closely associated with my memories of the early days of raising my children when we lived in Bedford from 1986 to 1994.. We both had four children, close in age and in the same gender order. Sweet, calm, loving, nonjudgmental and caring, Monica was my mentor and the model of the mother I aspired to be, but never quite attained. She selflessly dedicated her life to nurturing the ones she loved and to providing them the support, care and attention they needed. She was a good, gentle, and sympathetic person. She never complained, never criticized others, never bragged about her family and her academically and athletically gifted children. As a friend she was always one’s greatest cheerleader and supporter. She knew when and how to advise or console, and when to simply listen. As I write these words I wonder if someone who had not met Monica would believe them. But you all know her, and know that I speak the truth - Monica was truly a gem - or perhaps a saint!
My deepest condolences to Robert, who she absolutely adored, and to her beloved David, Molly, Gus and Bobby. The loss is almost too great to bear. But, along with the strong foundation of love and family that Monica built, your memories will help you get through these very difficult days.
With all our love and sympathy,
Ginny and Walid Ramadan and family

Monica was one of my best friends. Beside being the “nicest person in the world”, Monica was so kind and always put everyone else first.
I will miss our “girly” chats over coffee, lunch or dinners. They would last for hours…we managed to cover everything and have lots of laughs and fun!! So many memories that I will cherish always.
RIP Monica…gone way too soon, but never forgotten.
Love and miss you already. Xoxo

52 years ago Monica and Robert came into my life as a seventeen year old girl!
The day I met Monica Oswald is blazed in my mind as pure magic. Her bright dancing eyes, her charming smile, her tiny alive frame all spoke to me with open arms and heart! I was a small town Jersey girl coming to Marymount’s big city. As roommates, Monica taught me how to navigate the city, with boundless energy. I got to tag along to Columbia and meet Rob and his friends and his magical band!
We became fast friends for life. We never skipped a beat in our enduring friendship, regardless of distance, marriage, children or grandchildren.
In my lifetime, Monica will remain a treasured blessing of a thousand beautiful memories.
Like all if you, especially Rob and her siblings and children, I count my blessings for being honored with the joy of her sweetness that has enriched so many decades of my life.
Thank you, my forever friend!
I love you beyond words.

To all the Ahrens,
Monica was the most special lady! We have shared so much over the years raising our children together in Bedford, sharing great times with mutual friends and our love of our church, St Patricks. Dear Bob and all the Ahrens and Oswalds,
Monica was so special. She brought joy to everyone who knew her. She was loved by so many and will be missed. I have so many happy memories from the fifty years I have known you all. Her loss leaves an immense hole in us that cannot be replaced. But, we can be sure with the fact that she had reached perfection in God's eyes which is why he took her back. With love, John Brancati
